After finishing the 488 Xiangshan Scientific Conference titling by “The Scientific Issues and Cutting-Edge Technology of Terahertz Wave in the Biomedical Applications”, professor Lin Pang was invited to visit CIGIT by professor Chunlei Du and Hongliang Cui on April 8, 2014. During the visit, professor Pang provided a lecture titling by “Surface Plasmonics and its Applications” and introduced his studies in the fields of plasmonic physics and micro-Nano fluidics as well as the applications in biosensing and bio-detection.
Professor Lin Pang has been working on plasmonic biosensing, micro-Nano fluidics, and Raman Spectroscopy. His research regarding the method to fabricate 3D photonic Crystals with structural band-gap was patented in U.S., this technology is one of three well-recognized methods in the world and can be applied to manufacture the metal nano membrane array with large area. Professor Pang attended a project, funded by DARPA, focusing on the integration of photonic fluidics and surface plasmonic biosensors to manufacture controllable nano plasma. He is the member of Optical Society of America and also the invited reviewer for more than 20 international journals. He has published more than 30 articles on Nature Material, Appl. Phys. Lett., Small, Opt.Lett., Opt. Express. He also has 3 U.S. patents which have been used to commercial applications.
Professor Chunlei Du hosted the leture, professors Yulong Liu and Dongshan Wei et al. attended this scientific event.
