Center for Atmospheric Environment Research

I. Research Center Orientation

In the era of " carbon peaking and carbon neutrality," our center, based in the Chengdu-Chongqing region, focuses on atmospheric processes, impacts, and control of active substances. We aim to enhance regional air quality and promote sustainable development. Our research spans the sources and trends of atmospheric substances, health effects assessment, and control technology development.

II. Research Direction

Fundamental Research:

Environmental Atmospheric Chemistry

Photolytic reactions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ozone, and SOA generation

Aerosol formation and aging in the Southwest under high humidity and low irradiance

Causes and health impacts of atmospheric composite pollution in the Southwest

Catalytic removal mechanisms of atmospheric pollutants

Industrial flue gas denitrification catalysis and catalyst development

Technology Development:

High-sensitivity spectroscopic monitoring for trace gases

Enhancing denitrification catalyst resistance to poisoning

Preparation, measurement, and characterization of ultrafine nanoparticles (< 3 nm)

III. Team

Our team comprises 14 members, including 2 professors, 1 associate professor, and 7 assistant professors. Prof. Chen Yang leads the team, which includes distinguished members like a Chinese Academy of Sciences Western Young Scholar (Class A) and other talented individuals.

IV. Research Facilities

Equipped for online field observations, lab analysis, and air quality simulation, our team uses advanced instruments like PTR-TOF-MS, TOF-ACSM, SPAMS, GC-MS, and others. Our computing capabilities include a high-performance server cluster for air quality modeling.

V. Project Experience

We've led 12 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 2 key Ministry of Science and Technology projects, and others, demonstrating our commitment to cutting-edge research.

VI. International Collaboration

Our center collaborates with research teams in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Finland, and Ireland, fostering long-term partnerships.

VII. Contact and Recruitment

We invite researchers in related fields to join us. Contact Dr. Chen Yang at chenyang@cigit.ac.cn for more information.
