Driven by the creation of new organic, polymeric, and supramolecular materials, and propelled by innovations in photovoltaic, photodetector, and information/display devices, The Research Center for Thin Film Solar Technology focuses on overcoming the efficiency, stability, and cost constraints in the application of organic optoelectronic devices. The goal is to establish a research and development platform for organic thin film optoelectronics with distinctive regional characteristics and a fusion of multiple disciplines. The research center aims to provide technical references for sustainable development and intelligent living.

Team
Dr. Zeyun Xiao is a full professor and serves as the Director of the Research Center for Thin Film Solar Technology at CIGIT. His research interests revolve around organic/polymeric/supramolecular materials and optoelectronics, notably achieving record efficiencies in small molecule based organic solar cells. With a publication record exceeding 90 scientific papers, including contributions to journals such as Joule, Nature Commun., Sci. Adv., Energy Environ. Sci., and Adv. Mater., he has successfully secured a number of grants from CAS, NSFC, NSF Chongqing, among others.
Dr. Tainan Duan obtained his Ph.D. degree in June 2013 from the College of Chemistry and Molecular Sciences at Wuhan University. He performed postdoctoral research at National Tsinghua University in Taiwan, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in Saudi Arabia, and Aalborg University in Denmark, specializing in the study of new high-performance photovoltaic materials. In July 2017, he joined CIGIT,CAS as an Associate Professor. He was selected as a member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association, CAS, in 2019, and was further recognized as a Young Scholar in the Chongqing Ba-Yu Scholars Program in 2021.
Dr. Yao Chen is an associate professor and master's supervisor. His research focuses on organic optoelectronic materials. He has published over 50 SCI papers, including 16 academic papers as the first author/corresponding author in journals such as Adv. Mater., Angew., Adv. Funct. Mater., Chem. Mater., and others. He has also led three projects, including the projects from NSFC and two research projects from NSF Chongqing.
Dr. Haiyan Chen is primarily engaged in research on organic semiconductors, metal-organic functional materials, and optoelectronic devices. She has led projects such as the NSFC for Young Scholars, the CAS Youth Innovation Promotion Association Project, and the NSF Chongqing General Project. She has published over 40 papers in international journals including Joule, Advanced Energy Materials, Energy & Environmental Science, and Advanced Science. Several of her papers have been recognized as Web of Science hot papers and highly cited papers. Additionally, she has applied for seven Chinese invention patents and one international invention patent.
Dr. Peihao Huang is an assistant professor of materials science and engineering at CIGIT. His research focuses on the computational design and fundamental theoretical studies of photovoltaic materials. He has published 14 SCI papers, with several as the first/corresponding author in journals such as PNAS, Cell Reports Physical Science, npj Quantum Materials, iScience, and Solar RRL. Additionally, he has led two projects funded by the NSF Chongqing and one CIGIT basic research project.
Dr. Ke Yang obtained his PhD degree from Chongqing University, specializing in device fabrication technology, and now works as a assistant professor at CIGIT. As the first author or corresponding author, he has published 10 papers within a total of 25 SCI papers. His work has been cited over 1300 times, with an H-index of 17, and has published research work in international journals such as Sci. Adv., Joule, iScience, among others. He has applied for 13 Chinese invention patents and one international patent, and has contributed to a book chapter. By far, Dr Yang has led one NSFC project, two NSF Chongqing projects, and received support from CAS Special Research Assistant funding project.
Dr. Dingqin Hu is an assistant professor of materials science and engineering. She graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree from the School of Materials Science at Sichuan University and obtained her Ph.D. from the School of Energy and Power Engineering at Chongqing University. Her research focuses on semiconductor materials and devices, leading to over 30 SCI papers, with more than 1100 citations, including publications in Energy & Environmental Science, Joule, Advanced Functional Materials, and Advanced Sciences. Notably, her work includes 3 highly cited papers and 1 hot paper. She has received the first and second prizes for outstanding papers at the inaugural Sichuan-Chongqing Science and Technology Conference. She is leading one national and one provincial research projects.
