On the morning of March 19, 2024, Professor Janusz Pawliszyn, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and a professor at the University of Waterloo, Canada, visited the Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent (CIGIT), Chinese Academy of Sciences for a lecture “Advance in solid-phase microextraction for green analytical chemistry”. Prof. Hong Liu (Dean of CIGIT) introduced briefly about academic career of Professor Janusz Pawliszyn. As the founder of solid-phase microextraction (SPME) technology, Professor Janusz Pawliszyn first elaborated on the principles of SPME technology, the construction of new devices, their advantages, applications, and other basic information. He also highlighted the research progress of SPME technology in environmental pollutant detection, water quality monitoring, medical analysis, and other fields. After the lecture, Professor Janusz Pawliszyn engaged with the audiences and answered their questions in detail.
