Zhong Chen is an associate research fellow in the Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology at Chinese Academy of Sciences (CIGIT, CAS) and a master tutor in the Chongqing School at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He received his bachelor degree from Chongqing University in 2009, master degree from Sichuan University in 2012, and doctor degree from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2018, successively. In 2012, he joined CIGIT to research hydrothermal technologies and their applications in waste treatment and biomass conversion, including fundamental research, process optimization and reactor development. His research has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation of Chongqing, China, West Light Foundation of Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. He has published 19 papers in peer reviewed journals as the first and/or corresponding authors, including an ESI Highly Cited Paper and an Editor in Chief’s Featured Article. He is the Special Issue Editor of Energies (Biomass and Bio-Oil Research) and the peer reviewer for dozens of international journals. He is currently an expert of Chongqing Society for Environmental Sciences, and a member of Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China, Chinese chemical society, and Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences.
