My research in Environmental & Soil microbiome focuses on the protection of our environment through maintaining/improving soil and water quality and health. Particular interests include: (1) microbial drivers of soil organic matter cycling, (2) interactive effects of above and below ground biodiversity, (3) development of tools to assay microbial functions at the microscale, (4) quantifying the carbon flow of different microbial taxa, and (5) microbiome and soil health.
