Changbo Chen is a full professor at CIGIT. His main research interests include computer algebra, high performance computing and applied machine learning. His main academic contributions include proposing a family of efficient algorithms for polynomial system solving and applying them to steady states analysis in biochemical networks, quantum correlation determination, automatic parallelization and optimization of loops, etc.
He was funded by both the Youth Program and General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China in succession, and was selected to the Western Young Scholar Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Top Young Talents Program of Chongqing. He is one of the main contributors of the RegularChains package in Maple, which was awarded the distinguished Software Presentation Award by ACM-SIGSAM. He has also developed various polynomial system and semi-algebraic systems solvers, which have been integrated into multiple official releasing versions of Maple.
He has published more than 50 papers in journals and conferences, like SIAM-ADS, JSC, PRA, ISSAC, CASC and so on. He also served as an external reviewer for natural science foundations in Austria, Canada, and Germany multiple times, as well as a program committee member for international conferences such as ISSAC, CASC, and ICMS. He is the co-chair of the program committee of CM2024. He serves in the Computer Mathematics Committee of the Chinese Mathematical Society and a reviewer for the Mathematical Reviews of the American Mathematical Society. He been invited to give talks at the Annual Conference of the Chinese Mathematical Society, the Annual Meeting of the China Society for Industry and Applied Mathematics, the Computer Mathematics Conference of the Chinese Mathematical Society, the Dagstuhl Seminar in Germany, and the International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
